Man. My body has seriously let me down and kept me down far too long!
If you'll recall, last year about this time, I mentioned I had to take an unintentional break due to some sort of ailment in my back/hip area that had yet to be diagnosed. It took a whole year of guessing and various treatments (chiropractic, physical therapy, cortisone injections, etc) for a doctor to finally find a real issue causing my real pain. Final diagnosis was a torn labrum in my hip due to a hip socket that was too deep. Kind of a big deal!
I finally had surgery in August this year to repair the tear and shave down the bones of both my femur and pelvis to allow for better movement in there. Doc says the procedure went well, but overall, there's a 10 month recovery involved with this ordeal.
Very accurate rendition of me
I'm still very much recovering and healing, but I'm finally a little more mobile than I have been since surgery (and sans crutches and walker!). I'm frustrated that I'm not able to do all the things I want to yet, but I am slowly making my way back into the soaping studio - with plenty of breaks.
While it takes me longer than before to create, I'm starting to whip up some new soaps for the upcoming holiday season and have some fun products and gifts in the works too!
A big thank you goes to my loyal customers who have been patiently waiting for my return - I'm hoping that as I get fully recovered, I'll be able to keep all your favorites on hand! I appreciate you all and I'm so glad I get to supply you with your soapy goodness again!
